Meet Brittney Radz Spanbauer! Brittney is an Interior Design Associate at Design Styles Architecture, a full-service architecture, interior design, and visualization firm. She is an innovator in the interior design space and enjoys applying her touch to luxury design.

Q: tell us a little about your background.

A: There was never really an “ahh haaa” moment for me. I feel my passion for design has just been ingrained in my DNA but I suppose my journey towards becoming a designer began in 8th grade when I had an assignment to create 1st and 2nd floor plans for a 4,000 square foot “dream home” and I’ve been hooked on space planning and design since.

I’ve been working as a designer for 8+ years. I graduated from RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) with 2 degrees in Architecture (B.Arch and A.A.S. in Architectural Technology alongside minors in Civil Engineering, Lighting Design and Psychology). I worked heavily in 3D rendering and was also a licensed Florida Real Estate agent when I 1st moved down to Tampa, FL from NY.

Q: what style do you like to design the most?

A: “Instagram-able Design”!!! I thrive on being a trend setter in both interior design and fashion, so my favorite projects are those that allow my creative flare to jump 3 years ahead of the “trend curve” where my projects are completed before or just as the new trends are emerging and popping up in magazines. Those projects are rare to come by though however my other favorites include Luxury, Modern, Contemporary, Biophilic, Industrial, Mid Century Modern, Bohemian and Urban Flair.

Q: what project are you most proud of?

A: My favorite projects to date I can’t quite show off yet (a local brewery, hair salon and clubhouse in Tampa) however I’m very proud of the University of Tampa Southard Family Building and our very own office remodel.

Q: tell us about the photos below.

A: The project photos I attached are from our very own Design Styles Architecture Showroom! We began this project in 2018 (so you can see that we were 4 years ahead of the green curve even back then! 😉) The products I selected were Arabescato for the Kitchen Island, Cement for the Kitchen Perimeter and Utility Room, Misterio for the Ladies Bathroom and White Macubas for the Men’s Bathroom!

Q: what do you enjoy most about UMI stone?

A: I love UMI because of the incredible product quality and spectacular service. I’ve worked with Ashley Welsh for 6+ years and she’s never dropped the ball on any of the 100’s of projects I’ve touched. If my clients are happy, I’m happy and they deliver service above and beyond expectation.

Q: what is your favorite product UMI carries? And favorite color of that product?

A: I’m absolutely obsessed with the Antolini Italy Precious Stone line. Whichever client lets me place Amethyst “Original” in their project will have my heart forever. I would love to have this piece backlight as a show piece in any type of luxury project, whether commercial or residential.

Q: what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: I enjoy oil/acrylic painting, dance, photography, golf, traveling and exploring all parts of Florida on bikes with my husband and daughter each weekend.

Q: how can people get in touch with you if they would like you to design their home?

A: You can contact our office at 813-241-6700 (my extension is 219) or they can email me at brittneyr@emaildsa.com!
