Meet Marsha Faulkner! Marsha has been working as an interior designer for the past 26 years and counting! She has designed numerous spaces in Jacksonville, Florida and always visits her trusty countertop distributor, UMI Stone. See what her favorite style technique is, how she started her design career, and what her top UMI countertop choice is!

Q: Tell us a little about your background.

A: I chose to study interior design upon high school graduation and have been practicing design ever since! 26 years and going!

Q: What style do you like to design the most?

A: Honestly, I am very eclectic when it comes to styling.  However, I do enjoy any architectural style that is properly planned. I am a bit of a purist when it comes to design so for me to fall in love, the style is not as important as the attention to scale, proportion, order etc.

Q: What project are you most proud of?

A: Any time we have a truly happy client it is a huge success and we are so proud!  No matter the size, it is more about our ability to hone in on what our clients desire and bring that to life.

Q: Tell us about the photos below.

A: This is a lovely home located near the beach in Ponte Vedra and was completed a few years back. I chose this project to feature because we picked a classic marble, Calacatta. It is always a favorite and mixes in superbly with many different styles. Here, we chose a coastal look to reflect the area. Even after all these years, this still has a fresh and inviting look.

Q: What do you enjoy most about UMI Stone?

A: We love the variety and quality of the product at UMI, not to mention the killer showroom! Everyone is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. it makes shopping for stone a delight.

Q: What is your favorite product UMI carries? And favorite color of that product?

A: Lately I have been crushing on Lumen marble. We are located on the NE coast of Florida and so soft blues and soft greys are very popular here. That marble is such a creamy-dreamy soft shade and so pretty when installed. it is always a hit!

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: Right now I stay super busy with the newest addition to our home, a 5-mont- old Kitten named Olive, who I have nicknamed ‘Monkey’. She is so energetic and playful it takes every spare moment!
