Meet Donna Mancini! Donna was inspired at a young age with the look, feel, and function of a space from rearranging furniture and decorating her bedroom to show off her creative heart. After years of business experience, Donna decided to start her own company, Donna Mancini Interiors & Flooring. Learn more about Donna’s design tactics, her favorite UMI material, and more below!

Q: Tell us a little about your background.

A: Even as a young girl, I would spend weekends rearranging and decorating my bedroom and knew insightfully, that the look, feel, and function of a space was significant. Despite my love for decorating and design, I pursued a degree in accounting which provided me with a foundation that I continue to rely on today. With many years of varied, but relevant work experience in sales, real estate, business, and retail management, I set out to start my own business in 2010. My desire to take the business to the next level came to fruition with the addition of a brick-and-mortar retail design showroom in 2015. In 2019 we added a sister construction company to our businesses so that we can truly offer a one-stop-shop experience for design, products, and construction.

Q: What style do you like to design the most?

A: I love creating spaces that allow us to bring together a variety of styles! … I find it challenging and a bit more interesting to design a space that requires the successful merging of multiple styles in order to create a beautiful and functional space. I would describe my personal style as casual, sophisticated, transitional with a nod to timelessness.

Q: What project are you most proud of?

A: That’s a tough one! … Every project, regardless of the size ultimately changes our client’s life for the better. To see their joy and hear them tell us how appreciative and grateful they are, it’s powerful. Good design doesn’t just change the look of a room or home, it changes lives.

Q: Tell us about the photos below.

A: These photos are from a fun project we did in Jacksonville Beach, FL for a wonderful couple that wanted a light, coastal-inspired second home, a getaway from their busy lives in Atlanta.  We used Pompeii’s Concreto Honed on the perimeter and Pompeii’s Misterio on the island.  We love how beautifully they worked with the white and gray cabinetry.

Q: What do you enjoy most about UMI Stone?

A: Wow! … There are so many reasons I love bringing my clients and customers to UMI stone. The staff is simply the best! … They are warm, inviting, knowledgeable, and helpful. The UMI facility provides us with so many gorgeous options and plenty of inspiration.

Q: What is your favorite product UMI carries? And favorite color of that product?

A: I’m not sure how I’m supposed to pick one! … I love looking over the gorgeous natural stones that are in abundance.  We as a firm, do quite a bit with quartz, and the Pompeii line is a favorite for the quality and stunning colors. Right now, we’re especially loving the Veno Oro as we design warmer spaces, but the Arabescato will always be a favorite as well!

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

A: I love a great workout and spend quite a bit of my free time in the gym or putting on the miles walking, running, or biking outdoors. I also love time at the beach, enjoying a great book, and time spent with family and friends.
